ANYA BROCK Painting Workshop
SOLD OUT!
DID YOU MISS OUT? These classes tend to sell out quite fast so if you'd like to be contacted first for the next workshop just email Kelly at kelly@anyabrock.com and we'll add you to our waitlist.
I will be hosting a 6 hour Painting Workshop at Feld & Co, Booragoon on Saturday 17th May where we'll paint, make mess and be merry! This is the first workshop I've hosted in 7 years! Yes- pre covid!
The workshop has been crafted as a start-to-finish lesson on creating a painting. It's like a crash course in a little bit of everything. You will work through how to select and create imagery to paint from, explore experimental drawing exercises to train your eye, colour mixing, to finally crafting your own painting on canvas.
My workshop will explore the nature of self observation and work on breaking down all the obstacles that hinder your creative path. It'll teach you to strengthen your trust in yourself and your own intuition and allow you to hear your internal creative voice more clearly.
The Workshop will provide:
- Source imagery to paint from
- Paper, Pens, Charcoal, ink
- Sticks to paint with (yes)
- Paint Pots
- Paintbrushes
- 20 x 24 inch canvas (51cm x 61cm)
- Sushi lunch - we will provide a range of dietary options but if you have specific dietary requirements that isn't sushi it might be best to BYO.
- Light refreshments provided
We'll be painting abstracted floral pieces like the bright piece pictured so you'll come away with an understanding of experimental mark making and sophisticated colour palettes. This process involves lots of layered and expressive mark making and is a good introduction into how to find your way into abstraction.
EXPERIENCE and AGE: It’s not essential that you have an existing creative practice- newcomers are welcome but the exercises we’ll do are fairly experimental and so require a courageous spirit! 18yrs and older is appropriate.
The end goal of this workshop is for me to teach you how to create with a light and expansive mindset rather than a critical and discouraging one.
