We're looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and people-focused Casual Gallery Assistant to join our growing creative business. If you have a passion for art, design and customer service, and enjoy working as part of a small, dynamic team, we'd love to hear from you!

The Anya Brock Gallery is a contemporary art gallery and creative space in Fremantle showcasing original artwork, limited edition prints, homewares and creative workshops. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service and helping clients find artwork they genuinely connect with.

This role involves helping clients select artwork for their homes, businesses and commercial projects as well as facilitating a creative environment for our painting and craft workshops. The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships and guiding customers through the decision-making process.

SHIFTS

2-3 days/ week
Monday + Tuesday plus the occasional Sunday (all shifts 10am - 5pm)
Extra work over school holidays
Casual position

TASKS INCLUDE

Selling product, prints and paintings
Liaising with clients and suppliers to facilitate framing and delivery/ install of works
Generating quotes for clients and industry
Curating and installing artwork in the gallery
Wrapping and preparing artwork for delivery
Creating documents reflecting current product offerings
Overseeing kids painting/ craft workshops (light instruction only as they’re generally self led)
Creating mockups and salon hangs for clients

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Previous retail, sales or client service experience
Background or strong interest in art, interiors, design or styling
Excellent communication skills
Confidence speaking with clients about artwork and pricing
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Competent computer skills
Friendly, professional and reliable
Enthusiastic about learning new skills and contributing to a small creative team

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

Confidence using Canva, Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office
Basic understanding of Photoshop or mockup software
Comfortable learning new systems and processes
We work across Shopify and Square as online and POS systems

We are looking for someone who is dependable, takes initiative and can work independently during quieter periods in the gallery. Someone who is comfortable discussing pricing and proactively pursuing sales opportunities. This role would suit someone with several years of retail, gallery, interior design or client-facing sales experience.

This is a varied and rewarding role within a growing creative business. You'll work closely with artists, collectors, interior designers and clients while gaining experience across gallery sales, artwork installations, workshops and project management. With several exciting projects planned for the coming year, there is genuine opportunity for the role to expand in both hours and responsibilities for the right person.
