EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
I will be hosting two 6 hour Painting Workshops at Feld & Co, Booragoon on Saturday 17th of May and Saturday 31st of May where we'll paint, make mess and be merry!
These workshop has been crafted as a start-to-finish lesson on creating a painting. It's like a crash course in a little bit of everything. You will work through how to select and create imagery to paint from, explore experimental drawing exercises to train your eye, colour mixing, to finally crafting your own painting on canvas.
My workshop will explore the nature of self observation and work on breaking down all the obstacles that hinder your creative path. It'll teach you to strengthen your trust in yourself and your own intuition and allow you to hear your internal creative voice more clearly.
The Workshop will provide:
ABSTRACTED FLORAL WORKSHOP:
17th May 7:30am-1:30pm (an early one I know!)
We'll be painting abstracted floral pieces so you'll come away with an understanding of experimental mark making and sophisticated colour palettes. This process involves lots of layered and expressive mark making and is a good introduction into how to find your way into abstraction.
AUSTRALIAN FLORA WORKSHOP:
31st May 9am- 3pm
We'll be painting loose interpretations of Australian flora. This class involves loosening up your practice experimental mark making and understanding the restraint required to create immediate and expressive pieces- aka NOT overworking your painting.
EXPERIENCE and AGE: It’s not essential that you have an existing creative practice- newcomers are welcome but the exercises we’ll do are fairly experimental and so require a courageous spirit! 18yrs and older is appropriate.
The end goal of this workshop is for me to teach you how to create with a light and expansive mindset rather than a critical and discouraging one.
